Juventus fans are adoring Paulo Dybala after AC Milan winner

Juventus had a really difficult task overcoming AC Milan at the weekend.

But the lads from Turin managed to salvage all three points after a narrow 1-0 victory over their rivals.

And the game certainly wasn’t easy as the goal arrived in the 77th minute and it came courtesy of the man who started it on the bench – Paulo Dybala.

The young Argentine forward replaced Cristiano Ronaldo early in the second half and it seems that Maurizio Sarri hit the nail squarely on the head with that substitution.

Needless to say, many Juventus fans were simply adoring Dybala after the game, swarming social media and Twitter with their brilliant messages of support and showering their star with praise.

Some of them seem to believe Dybala is born to become a champion and has warranted donning their no.10 shirt.

Davinson Sanchez’s CL display shows he deserves regular run in the Spurs team

This article is part of Football FanCast’s The Chalkboard series, which provides a tactical insight into teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…

Tottenham’s impressive victory over Red Star Belgrade may have been an eye-opener for Mauricio Pochettino, as the performance of Davinson Sanchez showed that he is deserving of a regular run in the side, starting at Liverpool on Sunday.

On the chalkboard

The Colombian has often found himself out of the team this season and has occasionally had to fill in at right-back, with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen consistently being preferred ahead of him despite Spurs’ poor defensive record. Sanchez was even the one from the trio who was hauled off at half-time on Saturday by Pochettino, after starting as part of a back three with the Belgian duo.

They have conceded 22 goals in 13 games this term and the clean sheet on Tuesday was only their third of the campaign with Sanchez having featured in two out of three, and that means he should be pushing for a start.

Although Spurs dominated on Tuesday with 59% possession, it could have been a different story but for the centre-back’s two tackles and two interceptions, and his assuredness at the back is what the team has missed too often this season.

He has also been very effective on the ball in his last two games, with 93% and 94% pass accuracy against Red Star and Watford respectively, an aspect of his play which places him ahead of the other centre-backs in the squad.

Change in fortunes

The former Ajax man has proved that he should be in the starting line-up for the foreseeable future, particularly as Vertonghen and Alderweireld have looked susceptible at the back recently.

Against the Hornets the latter was responsible for the goal conceded, whilst his compatriot was fortunate not to concede a penalty, and was often caught out of position on Tuesday, too, with Ben Davies bailing him out too often.

That is another positive which should work in Sanchez’s favour, as he was a lot more convincing than his centre-back partner, with a WhoScored rating of 7.4 compared to Vertonghen’s 6.6, giving Pochettino plenty to think about.

As a result, he could be in line to start at Anfield on Saturday, as the Argentine may favour consistency in his team due to the positive result they picked up.

If he can show discipline on and off the ball once again, whilst keeping a close eye of Roberto Firmino, he will only help his chances of retaining a first-team spot, and if he manages to nail down a regular place it will be big turnaround from the previous 12 months, having started only 22 league games in 2018/19.

Real Madrid fans are drooling over Rodrygo

Real Madrid managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory over Galatasaray on Tuesday and kept their Champions League hopes alive.

The situation is far from ideal, however – Los Blancos now have four points under their belts after three games played in the ongoing European campaign but they are second in the table behind PSG.

There’s a lot of work to be done but at least they now have a win to their names.

And Zinedine Zidane should be extremely happy with the performance of his young rising star, Rodrygo.

The 18-year-old Brazilian talent was given a chance from the get-go and he took it with both hands.

Per WhoScored, he completed three dribbles, had two shots on goal and also won two tackles, while registering two key passes.

Loads of Real Madrid fans immediately noticed his brilliant display and swarmed social media and Twitter with praise for the young ace.

One fan even called him the successor of Cristiano Ronaldo while many others want him to get more minutes and actually start ahead of Vinicius Junior.

Barcelona: Fans discuss Marcelo Gallardo

Some Barcelona fans are keen for their beloved club to make a managerial change.Â

Barca have endured a far from impressive start to their domestic campaign this time out, losing the same amount of games as they did in La Liga all season, already and we are only in November (via BBC Sport).

The Catalans can be extremely thankful that both Real and Atletico Madrid have also been poor so far, meaning they currently lead the way in the Spanish top-flight, ahead of Zinedine Zidane’s Los Blancos on goal difference alone.

Indeed, as a result, it is understood, according to reports from Argentine outlet TNT Sport via AS, that the Catalan titans could be lining up a move for current River Plate boss Marcelo Gallardo – a manager seemingly respected by club talisman Lionel Messi given that he voted for him as the best coach in the world recently.

Here’s how some Barca fans reacted to that news on Twitter..

Man City fans react to Ryan Giggs’ claim about Man United’s 1999 team

Manchester City fans have hit back at Ryan Giggs after the Manchester United legend claimed the treble-winning team of 1999 would win the title today.

Giggs claims that the United team two decades ago would surpass City’s unstoppable force in England right now, as they were “something special”.

The Welshman told The United Stand: “Would the 1999 team win the league? 100 per cent.

“It would not be easy, but we would. The City side are fantastic, with a fantastic coach, but that team was something special.”

City fans, as you would expect, are not in agreement with the ex-Premier League star. Some City fans have pointed out that United only achieved 79 points, which is a fair statement when you consider Pep Guardiola’s side have won 100 and 98 points respectively in the past two seasons.

Furthermore, the Citizens won a domestic treble last campaign, but have failed to reach the pinnacle of the Champions League like United did.

Also, there would be a tense battle between two of the best-ever in Pep Guardiola and Sir Alex Ferguson, which in itself is a major talking point.

However, City fans seem to think there would only be one winner in this title race, and it’s them…

Arsenal starlet Reiss Nelson slammed by fans for one key moment for England U21s

One of the many talented youngsters coming through at Arsenal, Reiss Nelson took the unconventional path last season by heading on loan to the Bundesliga and following in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho in moving abroad.

The Gunners academy product spent the year at Hoffenheim under the tutelage of Julian Nagelsmann, and enjoyed a largely successful time in Germany, scoring eight goals in 31 games and being nominated for the Rookie of the Year award too.

However, after returning to the Emirates for this campaign, first-team opportunities have been much harder to come by, with Nelson making just six senior appearances in total.

On Friday night, he was in action for England U21s, and though he ended up getting on the score-sheet, fans watching the game were quick to point out one particular moment in the build-up to his goal.

Leading a counter-attack, Nelson had Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood in acres of space to the left of him, but seemingly failed to spot the run and instead played it to his right.

Despite going on to score from the move, fans took to Twitter to hammer the Gunners prospect for his lack of vision, with some fans insisting that he is simply over-rated.

Spurs’ Davinson Sanchez shows the necessary attitude to improve and succeed

This article is part of Football FanCast’s Pundit View series, which provides opinion and analysis on recent quotes from journalists, pundits, players and managers…

Davinson Sanchez has responded to comments made by Jose Mourinho in a professional but determined style which says a lot about his character.

What did he say?

The Portuguese boss remarked two years ago that his Manchester United side exploited a weakness in the defender’s game which allowed his side to beat Ajax in the Europa League final.

Mourinho placed a focus on allowing Sanchez time on the ball, calling into question his ability on the ball – a tagline which has stuck with the 23-year-old ever since.

The Colombia international admitted he was well aware of the manager’s comments, but he hasn’t taken it to heart, and instead chooses to use it as a positive which could allow him to get better.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, he said: “I know about it and my reaction was, ‘Give me the ball to play now!’ Not to show him, just to do my job. That experience puts me in a better position to be here and see how life is.

“There are many things to improve. I’m not nearly a perfect player, that’s why I need to keep going.”

His attitude is exactly what Spurs need right now, with only four wins in 13 games this campaign, and he has already made good on his desire to improve, achieving a pass accuracy of 93% and 94% in his previous two matches against Crvena Zvezda and Watford respectively.

Mature mindset

It is quite easy to forget that Sanchez is still young and has been in England for just two years, as he has made considerable strides in his game since his move from the Dutch champions.

Spurs have suffered defensively of late and that could allow him to nail down a regular place in the side, but his positive attitude means he could also become a key part of the team for years to come.

Check out what one thing all Spurs fans are saying about Son in the video below…

As a result, even if Mauricio Pochettino was to depart, to possibly be replaced by Mourinho – who has been linked – he could maintain his place at the club, as a determination to improve and succeed is what every manager looks for.

With certain players seemingly focused on things other than Tottenham, it is refreshing to see a player willing to learn and not taking the club for granted, and such an outlook could spread throughout the squad.

The futures of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Verthonghen both look uncertain with their contract’s expiring at the end of the season, and that could present Sanchez with the opportunity to step up to the plate and win his manager’s trust.

Arsenal fans respond to Mattéo Guendouzi’s international call-up

Although Arsenal’s 2019/20 campaign has seen the Gunners make their worst start to a league season for over 30 years, the recent news regarding an international call-up for one of the club’s promising youngsters has got these fans singing the midfielder’s praises.

Matteo Guendouzi, 20, has started all 12 of his side’s league games so far in the current campaign, and the Frenchman’s performances have been rewarded with a call-up to the French national side.

Although the midfielder’s club have been in extremely inconsistent form so far this season, winning just four of their first 12 league fixtures, Guendouzi has performed admirably for the north London outfit, registering two assists.

Despite pressure continuing to mount on Unai Emery, with reports suggesting the Spaniard could have under a month to turnaround fortunes at The Emirates, these fans were certainly pleased to see their 20-year-old midfielder earn international recognition from Didier Deschamps.

Here are some of the best reactions to Guendouzi’s international call-up.

Tottenham Hotspur fans back Dele Alli to rediscover form after recent goals

A selection of Tottenham Hotspur fans have voiced their support for Dele Alli rediscovering his form, that saw the midfielder thrive before suffering a string of injuries.

Alli missed the start of the Premier League season through a hamstring issue, and only managed to feature for 30 minutes in the top-flight across the opening eight weeks of the campaign.

He has since started three league games in a row and featured for the full ninety minutes in each, while hitting two goals with the late equaliser against Watford in October and the opening strike against Everton on Sunday.

Which North London club is facing the biggest crisis at the moment? Decide for yourself by watching the video below…

Injuries were a regular gripe of his campaign last term, as the 23-year-old was sidelined for a total of 22 games over 98 days through hamstring and thigh strains, as well as a fractured hand.

He also suffered a hamstring injury in the 2017/18 season, along with a knee issue in the 2016/17 term.

The 6 ft 2 advanced midfielder regularly wrote his name on the scoresheet before injuries began to creep into his game, as Alli recorded more goals and assists in the Premier League before turning 21 than Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Paul Scholes and Cristiano Ronaldo had managed.

His total of 40 was also more than Lampard (15), Gerrard (13) and David Beckham (12) together had managed.

Some Tottenham fans have recently voiced their support for Alli returning to his more creative best, as ‘class is permanent’ and the 37-cap England international will only get better the more he plays.
