The PCB has decided to appeal to the ICC regarding the decision of IPL franchises not to pick a single Pakistani player of the 11 on the auction list

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appeal to the ICC regarding the exclusion of all 11 Pakistani players from the IPL after the auction in Mumbai this week. Since the IPL is a domestic tournament, it is outside the ICC’s purview and so it is unlikely cricket’s ruling body will be able to do much about it, but the matter continues to rage on in Pakistan.”We will be lodging a complaint with the ICC and I will personally table this issue at the next meeting of the ICC executive board on February 10,” said Ijaz Butt, the PCB chairman, after a meeting with the country’s sports minister in Lahore. “The IPL may be a private and commercial enterprise but this issue involves the pride of a nation and we are going to pursue it with the ICC.”Pakistan’s players have reacted with anger and attributed the blackout to politics and Butt had already expressed his disappointment. Echoing these views, Pakistan sports minister Ijaz Jhakrani has now termed the exclusion of Pakistan players “a serious issue.””How can they [IPL franchises] avoid bidding for players from the world champion team?” he said after meeting the PCB chairman. “It’s our unanimous decision to take up this issue at the highest forum and lodge our protest at the ICC.” As a sign of protest against the snub to Pakistan’s cricketers, the speaker of the lower house had also stopped a parliamentary delegation from traveling to India.The Indian government was quick to distance itself from the results of the IPL auction, while N Srinivasan, the BCCI secretary and owner of the Chennai Super Kings franchise, has said has said the Indian board and government had nothing to do with the player selections.Butt, however, said these were excuses without substance. “They should tell us if franchises had reservations about signing Pakistani players because they were worried about security issues and availability of the players why were our players included in the auction in the first place,” he said. “If IPL franchise have so many issues with signing our players then why did the IPL first approach us to send them government clearances for the players.”

Na cara do gol, o meia pegou a sobra após ataque do Guarani deixou o goleiro Renan sem chances de defesa após dominar a bola em um chute com categoria e balançar as redes do rival.

O resultado deixa o Goiás com 42 pontos, na nona colocação do Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. Por outro lado, o Guarani perde uma posição, terminando a rodada em 15º lugar, com 39 pontos, três a mais que o Luverdense, primeiro time na zona de rebaixamento.

His one-day form has been good enough for him to be included in England’s 30-man squad for the Champions Trophy.

Plenty of West Ham fans have been going wild on social media following Sky Sports’ on-air London Stadium takeover claim.

The Hammers faithful have had plenty to shout about on the pitch this season, most recently after they knocked out holders Manchester City out of the Carabao Cup in the week, and it appears as if they may have some more good news off the field, possibly as soon as next month.

Sky Sports shared news on Thursday, video shared by Football Daily, revealing Daniel Kretinsky, a Czech-based billionaire who owns Sparta Prague and a big stake in Royal Mail, is within days of agreeing to buy a big stake in the club.

Kretinsky is in talks to buy a 27 per cent stake in West Ham, which they believe ‘crucially’ could lead to a full takeover.

Should Kretinsky eventually take full control, it would spell an end for David Gold and David Sullivan, who have been in charge of the Hammers for 11 years.

It is no surprise to see fans delighted at the news, considering the immense level of distrust between the Irons faithful and GSB.

Today they got a glimpse.The two masters of the limited-overs game, with a combined age of nearly 76, treated Port Elizabeth to the cleanest, purest exhibition of batting that this season of the IPL has seen. Tendulkar paved the way with a sublime innings and Jayasuriya followed suit with an explosive hand, the veteran pair combining to raise a century stand in 52 balls that flummoxed Kolkata Knight Riders. That stunning opening assault formed the crux of Mumbai Indians’ 187 and though Kolkata restricted the damage with six wickets for 48 runs after the tactical break, the damage had been done. Their only realistic chance at victory rested on their explosive openers’ shoulders but once they were gone inside three overs the chase was basically kaput.Mumbai’s first five overs were busy, without being spectacular. Tendulkar was beaten a couple times by Ishant Sharma but upper-cut a six and flicked a four in Ashok Dinda’s first over. That set the tone for a busy innings, taken up a level when he pulled Ishant for six from outside off stump.While Tendulkar whisked the ball off his pads and slapped through point, Jayasuriya didn’t get much strike. His first shot in anger was a chip just over extra cover’s fingertips and a signature clip to fine leg followed. Mumbai were 45 for 0 in five overs. Gayle bowled a decent last over and Mumbai were unable to end on with a flurry.Kolkata needed almost 9.5 runs an over inside a stadium rumbling like a Jay Z amplifier, and the pressure of chasing a large total under lights affected the Kolkata openers early in their innings. Brendon McCullum shouldered arms to his first ball before he steered Lasith Malinga to point. Gayle thumped Bravo for the 150th six in the IPL only to edge his West Indian team-mate to slip.Sourav Ganguly wasn’t allowed to come onto the front foot and so he used his feet to loft Bravo down the ground for six and four, and with that try for some momentum. But Ganguly struggled to find the boundaries thereafter and Brad Hodge never really threatened with 24 off 22 balls. Both were to fall against the tidy seam-up bowling of Nayar in successive overs, the last nail firmly hammered into Kolkata’s coffin.Nayar, Bravo, Zaheer Khan and Malinga didn’t have to do much but keep it near the stumps and wait for an urgent shot.
