A ideia é quitar, dessa forma, todas as pendências trabalhistas.

Ajmal's five leaves Hampshire on the ropes

Saeed Ajmal’s first five-wicket haul since August 2014 moves Worcestershire towards victory

Saeed Ajmal’s rehabilitation took a giant step forward when his first five-wicket haul since August 2014 gave Worcestershire scent of a victory which would ease their relegation worries but cut off Hampshire at the foot of Division One in the LV= County Championship. He may not be the magician who claimed 63 wickets in nine games in last summer’s promotion charge, but for the first time since he was forced to re-structure his action, he has hinted that he could become a match-winner again.A combination of Ajmal’s craft and Joe Leach’s stout-hearted medium-fast bowling routed Hampshire for 183 and, having been hurried into following on 295 behind, there was nothing to suggest an imminent escape from their current crisis of confidence. The last five completed innings have failed to produce even one total of 300 and a sixth is highly likely after closing at 164 for 6, still 131 short of making Worcestershire bat again. It was something for Hampshire, but by no means enough, that James Vince and Will Smith made half-centuries in the first innings. Vince’s 56 was his second highest score of the season but the downside was two dismissals without playing a shot, the second time for a duck as Ajmal took the first of three wickets to fall in consecutive overs. In all, they lost 13 on the day and as much as Worcestershire bowled with honesty and intensity – and a lot of guile in the case of Ajmal’s five for 28 from 17 overs – this was too many on a dry but not impossible batting surface. On resuming at 86 for 3, Hampshire almost got through the first hour unscathed but when Vince misjudged the first ball of a new spell by Leach, the slide was under way. While Ajmal took wickets in successive overs, Adam Wheater giving a return chance and Joe Gatting sweeping to deep square leg, the impressive Leach bowled Gareth Berg first ball.Smith made the most of some lower-order support but was left stranded on 51 from 113 balls after scoring all of the 31 added with last man Jackson Bird. Ajmal accounted for Danny Briggs and Brad Wheal, the latter caught and bowled at the second attempt, and Bird was finally trapped in front by Leach. It was a clever strategy by Worcestershire to keep Jack Shantry back for the second innings and sure enough he was at forefront of the push for victory, although there was a frustrating gap after the leg-before dismissal of Jimmy Adams for his 50th first-class wicket of the season.Hampshire spirits were beginning to rise until Shantry ended a partnership of 65, a bat-pad catch to the wicketkeeper accounting for Sean Terry (37) before Michael Carberry (32) chopped on. Vince then became Ajmal’s sixth victim of the match and Hampshire were back on the ropes with half the side gone for 97 when Wheather was caught behind off Charlie Morris.Smith, for the second time, held up Worcestershire, digging in for 29 in 105 minutes until giving Brett D’Oliveira a return catch, and Gatting was equally stubborn with 28 not out in 27 overs.

Daredevils in need of momentum-turning stunt

An unwanted record looms for Delhi Daredevils. No team in the IPL has lost 12 matches in a row; Daredevils are on the doorstep with 11 defeats

Agarkar: Daredevils desperate for a win

Big pictureAn unwanted record looms for Delhi Daredevils. No team in the IPL has lost 12 matches in a row; Daredevils are on the doorstep with 11 defeats. Against Kings XI Punjab’s dynamic seamers and yet-to-fire-properly batsmen, in conditions that will be swing-friendly, Daredevils’ resolve to arrest the slide will be severely tested.Only two of those losses have come this season but despite Daredevils being a massively rejigged team, the manner in which they lost could potentially bring that familiar cloud of depression back over their heads. JP Duminy saw positives in the one-run loss in Chennai, but when the team let the game against Rajasthan Royals slip, “heartbreak” was being mentioned. Daredevils need to beat that feeling because, in both previous matches, they have held their own for majority of the game.Kings XI have no such problems. They are slowly warming up into the tournament and are quietly waiting on the Glenn Maxwell/David Miller’s day out.Watch out for…Johnson v Yuvraj: A rip-snorter from Mitchell Johnson in Pune 18 months ago was perhaps the first sign of Yuvraj Singh’s decline. The batsman edged the bouncer to Phillip Hughes, the wicketkeeper. The next time he came in to bat, he was bounced out again, for a duck. In his next innings, he left a gap so wide between his bat and pad that Johnson could have bowled with a football and still hit the stumps. Another duck. Yuvraj only played six more ODIs after that. The way he is handling bouncers this time, expect Johnson to steam in the moment he arrives.Daredevils’ legspinners, Amit Mishra and Imran Tahir, have added much-needed bite to their bowling and since the two are slightly different, batsmen can’t apply the same rule to them. Mishra, slower of the two, relies on flight and turn, the conventional methods, while Tahir is skiddy and uses the googly more frequently. The two have already picked up eight wickets between them and will test left-handers and right-handers alike.Stats and trivia With 1133 runs, David Miller is the second-highest run-scorer for Kings XI Punjab. The top-scorer, Shaun Marsh with 1973 runs, doesn’t find a place in the XI Yuvraj Singh has scored 86 runs in his six previous IPL outings in Pune. However, in his previous match at the ground, he was Man of the Match for his 136 in the first innings of Punjab’s Ranji Trophy tie against Maharashtra Amit Mishra has been hit for 108 sixes in the IPL, the most for any bowlerQuotes”We just have to go out there and be positive and not think negatively at all. We can only get better. If we get one win under our belt I am sure we can turn this around.”
“They swung the ball last year as well and there is no difference there, but they have definitely added some more pace to their bowling. The wickets are definitely helping them.”

Cricket takes centerstage for Rubel

Speaking for the first time since his release from jail, Rubel Hossain has said it was a “mentally” worrying period, but now his sole focus is on the upcoming World Cup

Mohammad Isam21-Jan-2015Rubel Hossain has maintained a low profile during the Dhaka leg of Bangladesh’s World Cup training camp. Since joining the team on January 12, a day after getting bail, he had been kept away from any of the official press conferences. In the following days, he missed just one day of training – January 14 – to get court clearance for overseas travel and was given the space to train in peace thereafter. But there has been the odd stray incident. During one of the training days, a group that entered the Shere Bangla National Stadium premises as fans, taunted Rubel when he was entering the ground from the National Cricket Academy building. He didn’t react as the guard at the gate shooed them away but he looked helpless with such behaviour.Generally, however, he has received support in social media and a fan group even went to greet him when he got out of the Central Jail on January 11. In the preceding weeks, fans in BKSP and Fatullah mentioned the name of the actress who had sued him as he took the field for Legends of Rupganj in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. But since he didn’t talk about it, people talked about him. Finally on Wednesday, BCB’s media manager Rabeed Imam escorted him to the media centre building. In the first press conference of the training camp, a question about Rubel had been posed to Arafat Sunny but it was shot down by the media manager as “unrelated”. This time, it took about three minutes for the first such question to arrive. To his credit, Rubel dealt with them well, accepting it had been a tough period, before adding that his focus remained solely on the game.”I was mentally worried,” Rubel said. “But I don’t have that in my mind. I am not even thinking about it. My main target is the cricket. I am playing for my country, and I am trying to do better for the team. I have been going through a tough time but I don’t want to get stuck on it.”We have a big mission up ahead so I am focusing on how to make it successful. I have had some bad times. I express gratitude to those who stood by me. I will ask everyone to pray for me, so that I can do something in the World Cup.”Rubel had a middling 2014. He took 13 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 34.07. It was another year in which Rubel couldn’t bring down his runs per over below the five-mark. He still concedes at 5.58, which sticks up like a sore thumb like his Test bowling average.Rubel is one of the two Bangladesh bowlers, Mashrafe Mortaza being the other, to have bowled in New Zealand but he hasn’t played in Australia. The Bangladesh pace bowlers have often done well in helpful conditions but last year in the West Indies they threw away a chance to cash in on a wicket that offered bounce and seam movement. Rubel said that was perhaps because they rarely get a chance to bowl in helpful conditions.Rubel Hossain joins his teammates after the press conference•BCB”The pace bowlers become aggressive when they see a wicket with bounce.” he said. “We think of beating the batsmen, hitting them. But bowling in the right areas is more important on these surfaces.”Australia will present us with a chance to bowl on bouncy tracks. We don’t usually get them at home. We have to be clever bowling on such wickets. As a team we believe that we can get accustomed to conditions in Australia.”After the press conference, he walked back to a group of smiling teammates, who were stretching ahead of the day’s training. There were a couple of greeting calls, but Rubel just kept smiling and picked up one of the rubber rollers to start his warm-up.The next two months promises to be the most demanding of Rubel’s career.

Greg Chappell denies Tendulkar's allegations

Former Australia captain Greg Chappell, who coached India between 2005 and 2007, has denied Sachin Tendulkar’s claims that he wanted to remove Rahul Dravid as captain of the side before the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies. In an excerpt from his forthcoming autobiography, , which will be released on November 6, Tendulkar had written that Chappell had visited him at his house a few months before the World Cup and suggested that he take over the captaincy from Dravid.Chappell has stated that he visited Tendulkar’s house only once, almost 12 months before the alleged incident reported in the book took place.”The claims made in Sachin’s new book were brought to my attention earlier today,” Chappell told . “Whilst I don’t propose to get into a war of words, I can state quite clearly that during my time as Indian coach I never contemplated Sachin replacing Rahul Dravid as captain. I was therefore very surprised to read the claims made in the book.”During those years, I only ever visited Sachin’s home once, and that was with our physio and assistant coach during Sachin’s rehabilitation from injury, at least 12 months earlier than what was reported in the book.”We enjoyed a pleasant afternoon together but the subject of captaincy was never raised.”Tendulkar has been scathing in his criticism of Chappell in the book, describing him as a “ringmaster who imposed his ideas on the players without showing any signs of being concerned about whether they felt comfortable or not.” Tendulkar said that Chappell wanted to drop senior players from the side and several players were relieved to see Chappell go “which was hardly surprising because, for reasons hard to comprehend, he had not treated them fairly.”

There is confusion over the venue for the second qualifier of the IPL playoffs, with a likelihood that the match could be shifted to the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai from the Wankhede Stadium. Qualifier 2 will be played between the winner of the Eliminator against the loser of the first qualifier on May 30.”Yes, the second qualifier has been moved [to CCI],” Ranjib Biswal, the IPL chairman, told ESPNcricinfo. Biswal did not give any specific reason for the switch and was also non-committal when asked if the final, which is slotted to be played at the Wankhede, was in danger of being moved. He said: “no decision had been taken yet”.Biswal’s confirmation was news to Ravi Savant, the Mumbai Cricket Association [MCA] vice-president, who said he was unaware about the development. “The IPL has not told MCA anything like that,” Savant said.According to Savant, Sundar Raman, the IPL chief operating officer, was also unaware of the change in venue. “I spoke with the IPL chief operating officer who told me it was news to his ears also,” Savant, who is also a BCCI vice-president, said.Savant indicated that a situation over security on May 3 could be the possible reason for the shift. On that day, a few BCCI members who were attending the IPL governing council meeting at the board’s office in Wankhede Stadium were denied parking space by the Mumbai police, who were handling security for the match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab.”The issue was about car pass. Being a match day the security is taken over by the Mumbai Police,” Savant said. “And it was not MCA’s fault because we cannot issue passes to everybody.”Savant, who was not in Mumbai on May 3, said that the association had written to Sunil Gavaskar, the interim BCCI president for the IPL. “We have officially written to Sunil Gavaskar, president-IPL, about the said difficulty. They said the issue was closed,” Savant said.Savant also pointed out that even if CCI would host the match Mumbai Indians would need to inform the MCA: “Mumbai Indians have signed a contract with MCA and if there is a shift of venue, thenn there can be a problem.”

Bloomfield begin with thumping win

A round-up of the Premier League Tournament matches that ended on January 19, 2014

ESPNcricinfo staff19-Jan-2014Group ABloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club registered the only win of the opening round of the Premier League Tournament, thumping Panadura Sport Club by nine wickets. The win was set up by new-ball bowler Imran Khan and offspinner Suraj Randiv, who claimed nine wickets between them to bowl Panadura out for 109 on day one. While none of Bloomfield’s batsmen could build on starts, a series of cameos gave them a sizeable lead of 171. Panadura put in an improved performance in their second innings, but still none of their batsmen could get to a fifty. Left-arm spinner Chatura Randunu took 5 for 85 and helped keep Panadura to 224. That left Bloomfield chasing a mere 54, and they knocked the runs off in less than 10 overs.Ragama Cricket Club played out a draw with Sinhalese Sports Club, but they secured the first-innings lead and with it, a handful of points to go second on the Group A table. Ragama’s dominance was set up by centuries from Udara Jayasundera and Ian Daniel; they got to 417 in their first innings, and while SSC did not cave in themselves, they still fell a 104 short of the lead. Ragama then raced to 216 in the second essay, on the back of 68-ball 70 from their captain Sameera de Zoysa, before declaring when nine down. SSC were a bit shaky in the 13 overs they played out before play was called off, losing two wickets for 36. But with time of the essence, they were never really in danger of a defeat. Not even two innings could be completed in the high-scoring draw between Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club and Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club. Sri Lanka Ports chose to bowl and were made to slave for 111 overs, as Tamil Union piled on 423. Their innings was built around a century from Jeevan Mendis. Sri Lanka Ports more than paid them back in kind, though, batting out 143 overs for the loss of just four wickets, with hundreds from Yohan de Silva (127), Mahela Udawatte (191) and captain Ashan Priyanjan (114 not out).Group BA fighting hundred from Yashodha Lanka (101) and fifties from Sajith Kalumpriya (67) and Lahiru Lakmal (69) helped Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club draw with Moors Sports Club as they were 338 for 8 while chasing 369 on the last day.A century from Dilhara Lokuhettige (119*) took Moors to 380 in the first innings before they restricted SL Air Force to 229 with the help of five wickets from Janaka Gunaratne to take a lead of 161 runs. Moors scored another 217 for 5 before declaring as Shehan Jayasuriya and Oshada Fernando scored fifties to set SL Air Force a competitive target. Jayasuriya took wickets regularly and got six of the eight that SL Air Force lost on the last day but couldn’t force a win and Moors took home 12.785 points compared to SL Air Force’s 4.335.Colts Cricket Club and Sri Lanka Army Sports Club drew in Colombo with SL Army scoring 130 for 3 in chase of 216 on the last day. The match see-sawed after four wickets from Janith Silva restricted Colts to 192 despite a fighting 72 from Thisara Perera. SL Army took a lead of 169 with a knock of 86 from Mohammad Feshal and other contributions from the lower order. But colts fought back with Roshen Silva’s unbeaten 181 from 195 balls before they declared. SL Army saw fifties from Feshal and Manjula de Zoysa but the there wasn’t any time left in the match and the first-innings lead got them 12.255 points.A tame draw unfolded between Nondescripts Cricket Club and Colombo Cricket Club in Colombo after Nondescripts batted almost the entire day in the end. Nondescripts opted to bat and were rocked by Dilesh Gunaratne’s four wickets to be 124 for 8 before lower-order batsmen Tharindu Kaushal (77*) and Sohan Boralessa (44) took them to 242. A hundred from Chamara Silva (103) and fifties from Hasantha Fernando (99*) and Indika de Saram (65) gave them a lead of 90 runs to get the extra points. Nondescripts displayed a better performance on the last day when Upul Tharanga (97), Farveez Maharoof (56*) and Kosala Kulasekara (50*) scored fifties.
